cigarrettes
There are times when I literally cant stand them, cigarettes that is. I have been smoking since I was 15, back then it was the cool thing to do, everybody my age would think woooow they must be really grown up to be able to smoke. So I started, knowing about all the things that they could do to you and yet in my arrogance not carring. I was young, in good shape and ready to take on the world. I was the one who gave them to my best friend in the whole world, Heather, she was kinda resitent at first but I wore her down and now she is as hooked as I am. Today, almost three years later we have decided to quit, so far we have tried the patch and just about every kind of nicorrette there is and nothing. Every time I see those dumb comercials I want to laugh. So hear we are with nothing left to try, at the end of the proverbial "rope", we have decided to go cold turkey. This is the first day cigarrette free and I freel like crap, but I'm holding on, plus I know that I am not alone in my struggle, as with everything, my best friend is with me.

I am a heavy smoker as well. My whole world has come tumbling down since I have started smoking. I am out of shape, gained tons of weight, and like you - I got one of my best friends - Brooke, hooked. We used to have this thing that every night everyone would come over to my house and we would watch Jerry Springer (when it first was introduced) and smoke cigarrettes. I always felt very masculine being the only girl smoker so I convinced her that she should smoke too. I feel horrible now, and I have tried to quit about ten times to no avail. I really hope that you quit and I hope that you continue to write about your progress in your blog. Good luck!

Hang in there, I quit cold turkey in May of this year. I had been smoking a pack every day and a half for 5 years. Cold turkey is hard but you can do it. All I did was think of three things that I had done that were harder than quiting smoking. Everytime I needed to smoke I would think of these accomplishments, say them to myself three times, and wash the thought of breaking down and having a smoke out of my mind. I know it sounds strange but it worked. I wish you luck and enjoy the fresh air!

SMOKING IS BAD FOR YOU! It harms your body, so there is some motovation for you to quit. Just be true to your quiting style and things will work out.

Congratulations on being smoke free, that it a wonderful accomplishment and I can't even imagine how difficult it must have been for you. The majority of my friends smoke as well as my parents so although I do not smoke myself, I am around it all the time. Maybe one day they will be as determined as you and break that nasty habit.
